Product Information
His day has a rhythm: a quiet prayer with the first coffee, the work in front of him, and thanks before sleep. Saint Benedict built a whole way of life around that rhythm, summed up by his followers in two Latin words, ora et labora: pray and work.
The face of this signet carries the Saint Benedict medal, worn for centuries as a sign of God's blessing and protection. Its cross bears the initials of a Latin prayer, "May the holy cross be my light," with PAX, peace, at the top, ringed by the letters of the full blessing. Each shoulder shows a cross in polished relief on oxidized silver, and "Saint Benedict" is engraved inside the band.
Wide and solid, it is designed to be worn to work every day. A meaningful gift for a Catholic husband or father, a confirmation sponsor, a Benedictine oblate, or a family blessing a new home. Designed in the Holy Land by Marina, original designs since 1983.
"May the favor of the Lord our God rest on us; establish the work of our hands for us—yes, establish the work of our hands." - Psalm 90:17

Caring for Your Marina Jewelry
Your piece is made from 925 sterling silver. With a little care, it will keep its shine for generations.
- Store your jewelry in a cool, dry place, ideally in the pouch or box it arrived in, away from direct sunlight and moisture.
- Put jewelry on last, after applying perfume, lotion, or hairspray, and take it off first when you get home.
- Clean with a soft, dry polishing cloth. Avoid paper towels or abrasive materials.
- If your piece has an oxidized (antiqued/dark) finish, do not polish those areas — the darkened detail is intentional and polishing will remove it. Gently wipe with a dry cloth only.
- If your piece includes gemstones, enamel, or pearls, do not submerge it in water or cleaning solution. Wipe clean with a soft, slightly damp cloth and dry immediately.
- Remove jewelry before swimming, bathing, exercising, or doing household chores.
Designed in the Holy Land since 1983 - made to be worn, and made to last.

Ring Size Guide
Finding your perfect fit shouldn't be a guessing game. Whether you're choosing a ring for yourself or picking one as a gift, here's everything you need to get the size right the first time.
How to Find Your Ring Size
Option 1: Measure a ring you already own
Take a ring that fits the intended finger well and measure the inside diameter in millimeters. Match that number to the chart below.
Option 2: The string or paper strip method
Wrap a thin strip of paper or string snugly around the base of the finger where the ring will sit. Mark where it overlaps, then measure the length with a ruler in millimeters. Match that number to the circumference column below.
Option 3: Not sure, or buying as a gift?
The average US ring size is 7 for women and 10 for men. If you're buying a surprise gift and can't get an exact measurement, this is a safe place to start — and if it needs adjusting later, resizing is simple.
A few tips for an accurate measurement
- Measure in the evening, when fingers are at their largest
- Avoid measuring right after being out in the cold, or after a workout — fingers shrink in cold weather and swell in heat
- If you're between two sizes, size up rather than down
- Wider bands fit more snugly than thin ones, so consider going up half a size for a wide band

Chain Length Guide
Every Marina pendant necklace comes with a fine box chain in 925 sterling silver, gold-plated on our gold-plated pieces, in the five lengths below. Here's how to find the one that sits exactly where you want it.

How to Find Your Necklace Length
Option 1: Measure a necklace you already own
Lay a necklace that sits well on you flat on a table and measure it end to end, including the clasp.
Option 2: Measure your neck
Wrap a soft tape measure loosely around the base of your neck, where you'd like the necklace to sit. Add 2 inches (5 cm) for a comfortable, close fit, or 4 inches (10 cm) or more if you want it to hang lower and drape over clothing.
Option 3: Not sure, or buying as a gift?
17.7" (45 cm) is the safest length for a gift, since it suits nearly any neck size and looks right with almost any neckline.
Necklace Length Chart
| Length | Style | Where It Falls | Best For |
|---|---|---|---|
| 16.5" (42 cm) | Short | Close to the base of the neck | Off-shoulder tops, boat necks, or as the shortest piece in a layered look |
| 17.7" (45 cm) | Princess | At the collarbone | Our most popular length, works with almost any neckline |
| 19.7" (50 cm) | Princess (long) | Just below the collarbone | Crew necks and everyday wear, with a little more room to move |
| 21.7" (55 cm) | Matinee | Between the collarbone and bust | Lower or open necklines, or a pendant you want sitting a bit lower |
| 23.6" (60 cm) | Matinee (long) | Just above the bust | Layering under a shorter piece, or worn alone over higher necklines |
A few tips for an accurate fit
- The quoted length always includes the clasp, so measure loosely, not pulled tight
- A pendant hangs below the chain length, so factor in the drop when picking a length
- Petite frames wear each length a little shorter than the chart suggests; taller frames, a little longer
- Building a small layering set? 16.5", 19.7" and 23.6" (42, 50 and 60 cm) work well stacked together without tangling
- Our solid 14K gold pendants are sold as a pendant only, without a chain
