In 1830, in a chapel on the Rue du Bac in Paris, Saint Catherine Labouré saw the Virgin Mary and was asked to have a medal made. Its front shows Mary with rays of grace streaming from her hands, framed by the prayer "O Mary, conceived without sin, pray for us who have recourse to thee." On the reverse, a cross rises over the letter M, above the Sacred Heart of Jesus and the Immaculate Heart of Mary, ringed by twelve stars.

The Miraculous Medal is one of the most widely worn Catholic medals in the world. Marina Meiri designs her versions in her studio on Mount Carmel, with the inscription in English or in Latin, Maria sine labe originali concepta.

Choose oxidized sterling silver in several sizes, warm gold-plated silver, medals filled with blue enamel, or a shield-shaped frame set with blue stones. It is a cherished gift for a mother or grandmother and a classic keepsake for First Communion and Confirmation.
